&lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;Distances de freinage réduites, absence de fading, réaction parfaite dans la pédale de frein, aide au conducteur par l’assistant de freinage et l’ESP : dans l’équipement de ses modèles sportifs haut de gamme des séries Fiesta et Focus, Ford mise sur la technique de freinage de Continental Teves. À cet effet, les freins de roue, le servofrein et l’ESP ont été adaptés aux performances routières et au potentiel dynamique de la Fiesta ST de 150 ch ainsi qu’au moteur turbo à cinq cylindres de la Focus ST développant 225 ch.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;b style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;

&lt;/b&gt; &lt;p style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;En tant que fournisseur du système de freinage pour toutes les motorisations de Fiesta et de Focus ainsi que pour de nombreux modèles Mazda et Volvo, Continental Automotive Systems a été très tôt impliquée dans les travaux de développement. « L'objectif était de donner aux systèmes de freinage des modèles ST des caractéristiques constituant un complément parfait au tempérament des moteurs », précise à propos du travail de développement Rolf-Dieter Betzer, Customer Chief Engineer Ford Group chez Continental Automotive Systems. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="color: rgb(153, 153, 255);"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Tuning logiciel pour la suspension : ESP adapté au comportement routier&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;Pour donner un comportement routier particulièrement sportif à la Fiesta ST et à la nouvelle Focus ST, Ford a modifié les ressorts, les amortisseurs et les stabilisateurs, ce qui a permis d'obtenir globalement un comportement routier très sportif et très agile. Continental Automotive Systems a ensuite adapté le logiciel ESP des deux véhicules ST. Ici, la priorité absolue est naturellement accordée à la sécurité de conduite : si un seuil défini est dépassé, l'ESP intervient en douceur mais avec efficacité. Sur la Fiesta ST et la Focus ST, les données requises pour des interventions optimales de l'ASR, de l'ABS et de l'ESP du système de freinage performant MK60 sont fournies par des capteurs actifs de vitesse de roue et des capteurs ESP de Continental Automotive Systems.
&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="color: rgb(51, 255, 51);"&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 51);"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Freinage avec mordant : freins de roue surdimensionné&lt;/span&gt;s&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;Les freins de roue ont été également adaptés aux meilleures performances routières : dans les roues avant de la Fiesta ST, des étriers de frein modèle FN enserrent des disques de 278 millimètres de diamètre et épais de 25 millimètres. &lt;span style="color: rgb(204, 102, 0);"&gt;«Warning! 225 chevaux pour 36 000 francs»: la récente affiche de Ford pour le modèle Focus ST a fait bondir Philipp Hotzenköcherle, commandant de la police municipale zurichoise. Dans une lettre adressée à Ford, et révélée par Blick, le commandant souligne combien il estime cette publicité «problématique». «Ainsi, des jeunes gens sont poussés à devenir des chauffards», a encore ajouté le premier policier de Zurich.&lt;/span&gt;

Climat sensible&lt;/b&gt;
&lt;span style="color: rgb(204, 102, 0);"&gt;La lettre a été écrite dans un climat particulièrement sensible en Suisse alémanique. Jeudi soir, Enrique, un Argovien de 23 ans, a perdu le contrôle de sa Ford Focus RS (un modèle de 215 ch minimum). L'accident a coûté la vie aux deux passagers du véhicule, âgés de 20 et 22 ans. Quant à Enrique et deux autres personnes impliquées, ils sont très gravement blessés et toujours hospitalisés.&lt;/span&gt;

&lt;span style="color: rgb(204, 102, 0);"&gt;Du côté de Ford, on se défend de vouloir faire pousser de la graine de chauffard. Erwin Thomann, porte-parole du constructeur: «Le mot «warning», «attention» en français, est justement une mise en garde contre l'utilisation abusive de la puissance du véhicule.» Autre argument du constructeur automobile, le modèle Focus ST séduit habituellement les acheteurs dans la quarantaine. «Un modèle pour papys, disent les jeunes, un modèle qui n'a subi aucune modification de tuning.»&lt;/span&gt;

&lt;span style="color: rgb(204, 102, 0);"&gt;Sur le fond, Ford ne serait pas défavorable à une limitation des chevaux pour les jeunes conducteurs, comme le propose l'association de défense des victimes de la route Road Cross. Voire même à un blocage de la vitesse à 120 km/h si nécessaire. Aujourd'hui déjà, les concessionnaires sont invités à proposer à leur jeune clientèle des cours de perfectionnement, comme ceux dispensés par le TCS. «Mais il n'est pas question d'interdire de vendre une voiture à un jeune. D'ailleurs, poursuit le porte-parole, les systèmes de leasing sont aussi en cause, car ils permettent à des personnes sans expérience d'acquérir des grosses cylindrées.» Actuellement, au moins huit marques différentes proposent des modèles avec une motorisation de 200 à 230 ch dans une fourchette de prix qui varie de 36 000 à 39 500 francs.

La présentation est sportive sans excès, l'équipement sans faux-col (système audio CD/MP3, climatisation régulée, entre autres). Il appréciera plus encore la sonorité particulière du 5 cylindres Volvo à admission variable, magnifiée par une boîte à air active qui, à l'accélération, laisse entrer les bruits d'admission directement dans l'habitacle.&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 153, 0);"&gt; La poussée est franche et vigoureuse, par l'action conjuguée du turbo et d'une transmission courte, mais n'a plus la sauvagerie brutale qu'on avait connue dans la Focus RS. En accélération d'ailleurs, la Focus ST ne gagne rien sur son aînée, avec un 0 à 100 km/h en 6,8 secondes. Par contre en reprises de 50 à 100 km/h, c'est deux secondes pleines de mieux que la RS. Et la vitesse maxi progresse de 232 à 241 km/h. Mais c'est surtout dans le domaine du comportement routier que les progrès sont les plus patents. Le châssis de la nouvelle venue, posé sur des grandes roues de 18 pouces, est infiniment plus rigoureux que celui de l'ancienne Focus qui, dans sa version RS, avait atteint ses limites, avec en particulier un train avant erratique sous la poussée violente du turbo, et un train arrière plutôt pointu. La nouvelle ST, même sur circuit, peut, elle, être mise entre toutes les mains, même ESP débranché.&lt;/span&gt;     &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 153, 0);"&gt; Certains pourront regretter le fort caractère de l'ancienne Focus RS. La nouvelle ST, en effet, est moins radicale, plus avare en sensations, plus portée sur le Grand Tourisme rapide. Pourtant son cinq cylindres turbo assure des performances supérieures en souplesse et dans une sonorité sympathique, et surtout son châssis est infiniment plus rigoureux et efficace. Sur la boucle nord du Nurbürgring, d'ailleurs, la ST est 14 secondes plus rapide que l'ancienne RS. Et, mieux équipée, elle est aussi moins chère. Alors que la RS exigeait plus de 31 000 Euros, la nouvelle ST est vendue au prix... de l'ancienne ST 170 ! &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 153, 0);"&gt;Je m'ennuie deja de la sonorité du 5 cylindres et du bruit d'aspirateur que fais la turbine lors des accelerations (avec modération bien-sûr ;-)... Question finition, pas de grosses décéptions. Esp déconnectable et tenue de route irréprochable! Une précision parfaite de la direction, elle répond à merveilles et pas de besoin de tenir votre volant à deux mains lors des montées en puissance car géométrie parfaite et excellement équilibrée! Cette caisse c'est vraiment un petit océan de violence propre et douce à utiliser tous les jours. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;
